PO version 3.5.6.0 is now available. This  update addresses some bugs, adds new features, and enhances some existing features. We’ve now got Audio Notes for Tasks. The CSV importer is more stable and is easier to use. It also now allows you to update existing records. There is also a handy new feature called ‘Undo Checkout’.

Here at Give Software we like Google. You’d probably agree that Google has made life awesome for internet users. We were excited to see that Google has entered the world of mobile phones. We are excited about this as it opens up a whole new world of software development for us. It’s not the first Android powered phone, but it’s the first sold by Google. We are sure it’s going to be a success now that Google has really committed to this new platform. We are going to invest time in developing tools for the Android platform (another google gift). The next update of Project Overlord will address some Gantt View performance issues. Expect better speeds. A few small bugs will also be addressed. Keep your eyes open for an update to be live within the week.

An employee of Give Software recently created a website to help inform people about celiac disease. A family member of hers was diagnosed and inspired the creation of the site. We wanted to give Google a nod in listing it in its directory by providing a link.

There is an update coming out in a few days for PO 3.5. The update adds some functionality that will make life easier. Users speak, we listen all quick like.

• Advanced Task Input is quicker
• Playblast comments display under playblasts in the Shot View (comments made in dailies que)
• Asset details showing in the ‘Details Area’ are more extensive. Now shows associated tasks and shots. (Also the same information is available from the Asset Properties View.)
• Departments can now be linked to actual tasks which can be viewed from the Shot View
• Members of departments are automatically assigned to a task if the task has an associated department
• Project-Wide Quick Search – Allows you to search/view different elements of the project quickly and easily
• Enhancements to the Gantt Chart.
